The short version
If you only read one section, read this one:
- You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name or email to use a calculator.
- Every calculation runs in your browser. The values you enter are not sent to us.
- We don't collect, store, or sell your financial, health, or other calculator inputs.
- Anything you choose to save is kept in your own browser and can be cleared at any time.
- There are no advertising trackers reading what you type.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to the FinDock website and the calculators on it. It describes how information is handled when you visit and use the tools. It does not cover other websites we link to, which have their own policies.
By using FinDock, you agree to the practices described here. If something isn't clear, please ask, the contact details are at the bottom.
What "runs locally" actually means
When we say calculations run locally, we mean the math happens on your device using JavaScript in your browser. There is no server working out your mortgage payment or your BMI, and no database recording the figures you enter.
In practice, that means the sensitive parts of a calculation, the loan amount, the salary, the weight, the dates, are used only long enough to show you a result, and then they're gone when you navigate away, unless you deliberately save them.
Information processed on your device
The values you type into a calculator are processed entirely in your browser to produce the answer, formula breakdown, and any chart. We don't receive these values, and we have no way to see them.
This includes everything from interest rates and prices to health measurements and grades. None of it is transmitted to FinDock.
Preferences and saved calculations
FinDock can remember a few preferences to make the tools nicer to use, things like your chosen theme, decimal precision, currency symbol, and favorite calculators. These are stored using your browser's local storage and never leave your device.
If you explicitly save a calculation, it is written to your browser's storage (IndexedDB) so you can return to it later. This only happens when you choose to save; nothing is saved automatically, and no saved calculation is uploaded.
You are always in control. You can clear saved data and preferences from within the app, or by clearing site data in your browser settings.
What we never collect
To be explicit, FinDock does not:
- Collect the financial or medical values you enter into calculators.
- Use external calculator, interest-rate, tax-rate, or currency APIs that would send your inputs elsewhere.
- Run analytics that read the contents of your calculations.
- Sell, rent, or share your information with data brokers or advertisers.
Server and hosting logs
Like almost every website, FinDock is served by a hosting provider that may keep standard technical logs, for example, your IP address, the time of a request, and your browser type. These logs help keep the site secure and reliable.
Importantly, these logs are about serving web pages, not about your calculations. They do not contain the numbers you enter into calculators.
Third-party requests
To display cleanly, the site may request assets such as web fonts from a content delivery network. These providers can see standard request information (like your IP address) as part of delivering those files. We keep third-party requests to a minimum and do not embed advertising or social-tracking scripts.
Children's privacy
FinDock is a general-purpose calculator tool and is not directed at children. Because we don't collect personal information or require accounts, we don't knowingly gather data from anyone, including children.
Where you are
FinDock is available internationally. Because the sensitive parts of your use never leave your device, the location of any servers is largely irrelevant to your calculator inputs. Standard hosting logs may be processed in the region your host operates.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves, for example, if we introduce optional accounts or paid features in future. When we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
